Rough times for dinosaurs
Vernons Casino is an abomination that should have died long ago. It desperately needs updates in-game variety, website design, and promotions. They have games from Playtech, IGT, Barcrest and some other providers, but the titles are not very impressive, and the library is about one hundred of games. The brand exists for almost a century, and the only thing they managed to learn in these years is how to take more and give less. Vernon's Casino is unique because it’s the only casino where you’ll pray about not hitting progressive jackpot. If, despite your ardent prayers, you hit the jackpot - you’re screwed, because these guys decide in their sole discretion whether they’ll share it with you or just appropriate the whole amount. And they have no Welcome Bonus at all - so you can enjoy playing without any wagering requirements. In our review, we’ve tried to find at least one reason to play in this casino - and failed.
- Two gaming platforms (Playtech and IGT);
- Rich variety of non-live dealer roulette;
- Almost a century of experience;
- Concrete balls: large enough to say they have the “best collection of online casino games.”
- Predatory terms about the progressive jackpots;
- Outdated website;
- Poor games collection;
- Awful reputation;
Vernons Casino Review
A wise man said that satiety isn’t determined by the time spent in the canteen, but by the number of pies eaten. This thought perfectly fits Vernon’s Casino. Vernons as a brand was founded way back in 1925. It is currently a part of Netplay TV, which is the subsidiary of Betsson Group, which is another established name in the industry. With so many well-known brands associated with it, it goes without saying that the casino is great, right? Turns out, it’s not so much.
The website begins to show definite signs of age. It’s about time it got some professional face-lifting. Some sections don’t work, and the overall feeling about the website is way below average. An awful thing about Vernon’s Casino is their extraordinary greed. In the T&C, paragraph 10.14 they state that if they decide to cease providing the progressive jackpot games - your jackpot will be “appropriated by Us or Our Game suppliers or sub-contractors” (sic!). This sounds ridiculous, but believe us, if you’ll win a progressive jackpot it won’t be so funny. They also reserve the right to determine max payout at their absolute discretion, without even stating any numbers so that it might be something about €5000 per month. Due to these predatory terms, the casino was blacklisted on some reputable watchdog portals.
Customer Support: The support is alright, with most bases covered - free UK phone and paid international one, 24/7 live chat, and email.
Banking: Same goes for the deposit options - bank cards and your most popular e-wallets (PayPal, Neteller, Skrill) are all accepted. The pending time is up to 96 hours, and after that, you’ll wait for additional 1-2 days for eWallets, 2-5 days for credit cards and 3-5 days for bank transfer.
Software and Game variety
Vernons Casino strives to offer you the best collection of online casino games by making sure they've got all your favourite games lined up. That’s what these folks say about their astounding 100 titles game library. Casino hosts gaming platforms from both IGT and Playtech, and IGT one can be found in Bingo section (don’t ask us, we dunno why). Here are some titles:
- Slots: Age of Gods: Fate Sisters, White King, Samba Brazil;
- Table/Card Games: Roulette, Blackjack, Baccarat;
- Specialty Games: Beachside Bonanza, Bingo Scratch, Millionaire Scratchcard;
- Arcade Games: Bouncy Balls.
“Usually this would mean hundreds of slots and table games, but not in this case.”
The progressive games section is alright though - about 15 games with 5-6 digit jackpot counters, the most promising being Monty Python’s Spamalot that currently offers $1.5 million jackpot (it will be easier to win it than to withdraw it, hue-hue).
Mobile and Live Games
The website works fine on mobile devices, but the game choice is even more pathetic. On the bright side, all the games fit neatly onto one page; you don’t even have to scroll it down. How’s that for a plus?
Live games section proudly promises “an outstanding live casino experience.” It is true if you enjoy roulette. That’s all there is - roulette in five variations. Even funnier is the fact, that four of them are not even that live. Well, alright, they do have a real wheel and all that, but there are no live dealers! It’s just an automatic wheel captured on camera.
Bonuses and Promotions
This is where Vernons Casino’s variety issues get blatantly obvious. The promotions page currently features the sleeves of a vest. Yes, you got it right, they have no promotions at all!
“As you might have guessed, there is currently no welcome bonus at Vernon’s.”
As you might have guessed, there are currently no welcome bonuses at Vernon’s. Be sure to check the promos page though, they might add something in the future (better late than never). Hell might freeze over in the meantime while you wait.
The VIP program is rather generic - earn points for playing games, grow through ranks, rip your rewards. Whoopdy-doo.
Vernons Casino has absolutely nothing to interest players (unless you are a hardcore fan of the brand itself). Poor game selection (especially for a Playtech casino), no bonuses to speak of, outdated website design - it sucks in every possible aspect. And don’t forget about their terms about progressive jackpots! At least there’s 24/7 support waiting for you to complain about all that. Poor reputation and tons of complaints on every website or forum are convincing enough to forget about Vernon’s Casino.
